Our Investment in People Earns Award

Yet again, we at Nortech have secured an Investors in People award. To win the accolade, we completed a host of goals, and in the process, three of our technical team gained a BTEC in Access Control. Certainly our Investors in People Award is one of the ways that we can show our customers all of the expertise that goes into making our products reliable and effective. The respected award is a national initiative run by government, and our assessor, Alan Williams of Focus HR Wales Ltd., conducted a stringent assessment on 3rd August this year.

Standing with the Investors in People certificate are two of our technical team who achieved the BTEC, Stuart Morgan and Lloyd Davage. With them is Simone Young, our HR executive who organised our participation.

Of the BTEC scheme, Simone said, “Continuous professional development helps us to keep our products reliable and efficient. The more expertise our organisation has, the more help we can give customers who need support or a solution.”

Nortech first entered the award scheme in 2003. Since then, we have passed every assessment, and this year’s audit was particularly testing. The company set itself the challenging goal of:

  • implementing staff training to further boost our technical expertise
  • creating meaningful values for the organisation which keep us working well
  • testing external HR support
  • producing a new appraisal system, to keep our company on track for success
  • renewing our ISO9001:2008 Quality Management certificate, as part of our culture of continuous improvement

The result is an organisation that cares about manufacturing quality, and is professional enough to keep raising its standards.
